I’ve had them all. Actually back in 1985 when I was in Dallas I had a “poor man’s Margherita , Tecate with a lime. This was long before the Corona and limes became the “in thing”.
So as I begin the penultimate week of my pseudo ride in Loosy Anna I’m thinking of Madeline Kahn’s song from Blazing Saddles. “I’m so tired”. Tired of saddle sores, tired of the same routes, tired of riding 5-7 hrs a day alone, tired of social distancing, blah, blah, blah.

But I will “ENDEAVOR TO PERSEVERE” and complete the ride. There is no “try” just “do” or “not do” right Yoda?
It’s hard to imagine I’m closing in on the end of this journey. In a way it’s gone fast because it’s pretty much all consuming. I’m starting to compile my learnings and experiences from the ride which I’ll share in my wrap up post. Who knows, maybe I’ll go Forrest Gump and just keep going. I’m starting to look like him as I’ve sworn of shaving until the ride’s complete. But I did get a buzz cut before I started so at least my hair isn’t too shaggy

So ride Bob ride! And no riding is not like a box of Chocolates, I pretty much know what to expect each and every day.
Below are my stats for the week and also I’ve included my virtual schedule for the next week. Under just over 800 miles to go. I threw in a Century ride (100 miles) this week, just to do it. Was a long day but not awful. Maybe I’ll do another before the end.
Hell, I’m nearly there. Speaking of which.(Hell that is)

Of course, Mother Nature is not done with me yet. She couldn’t blow me off the bike so now she’s trying to bake me off it. Guess I’m going to have to be an Early Bird.! 100 degree days. Well , this marks the date the Santa Cruz River freezes over. Local Joke. Once it hits 100 the dried out river is said to “freeze over”.

So that’s it for this week. By next week at this time I’ll have said good bye to Loosy Anna, Miss Sippy, and Ali Bama and introduced myself to Flo Ridda.
Till then may the roads be smooth, the wind at your back and your 50+ sunblock be effective.
